€ 123m to carry out a radical change of the town and to make life still more pleasant…

Montluçon, thanks to the ANRU (National Agency of Urban Renovation), aims at finding a balance between the Left and the Right Bank. This project amounting to € 123m over 4 years will improve the living conditions in some of the districts of the town such as Fontbouillant, Bien-Assis, Dunlop and more generally on the Left Bank of the Cher.

Montluçon is one of the first 75 French cities to sign an ANRU agreement, with only another one in Auvergne (Moulins/Yzeure).

Housing
With the ANRU, Montluçon will be able to meet the demand for detached houses, small residential developments or small blocks of flats through a destruction, renovation and construction programme.

Traffic
Making the traffic more fluid, connecting the various neighbourhoods to each other, fostering and promoting the various means of transports (cycle, public transport…) are made a priority.

Residential development
To improve the living environment, private gardens, play areas and open spaces will be set up. Increasing the safety of the buildings is also at stake : lifts, entry phones, parking areas…

Business
So as to boost the local shops, car parks, parking places and open spaces will be created (landscaped development, fountains, trees…).

Services
The ANRU is a way to develop corner shops for the local residents thanks to the building or the renovation of public or collective facilities (nurseries, gymnasium…).
